Mission Statement
Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of Swiss Run Swissys. We are located in Georgia Vermont, just 30 minutes North of Burlington, Vermont. Here at Swiss Run we strive to produce quality Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs that excel as a working dog, show dog, and being a great family pet. Our breeding program is devoted to improve the breed through selective breeding practices and in the education of new puppy owners. Our goal is to produce structurally sound, correct, and healthy puppies that meet the breed standards. We are also striving to produce good temperaments, longevity, and willingness to work. Our puppies are raised in a family setting with a lot of love and care. All our dogs live in the house with us and are our family pets. We have very limited litters per year allowing us to concentrate on our breeding program. A Swissy is not for everyone so care is taken in placing them in a suitable and loving home. Please feel free to contact us or stop by for a visit. If you have any questions about the breed or our dogs please contact us. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist. We are currently active members of SCONE, Patriot Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club, GSMDCA, and Champlain Valley Kennel Club.
My name is Deanna Never. My husband, Ben and I reside in Georgia, VT. We share our home with six Greater Swiss Mountain dogs. The first time I met a Swissy I fell in love. A couple years later we got our first Swissy, Frasco. Once we got into the breed we were hooked. That same year for Christmas we got a rescue Swissy, Vixen. She and Frasco were fast friends. Unfortunately, we only had her for two short years; we lost her to a splenic torsion. Loosing Vixen was very hard on us and Frasco. We were not ready for another Swissy right then so we got Hanz, our Boxer, Hanz is your typical lovable Boxer. He could make anyone have a good day with his goofy antics. Hanz and I decided we were going to try to have a show career; I enjoyed showing, but Hanz did not. I let him retire to be an obedience dog and continued with my show career. I had the opportunity to learn about the show ring with my friends Newfoundlands. With his training along with classes I had a few successful wins. Finally, I was ready to start showing our new Swissy puppy, Essa. She was a real show off and did well in the conformation ring and continue to be successful. I keep busy at the shows with my swissys and the Newfoundlands. Being a Certified Veterinary Technician I have a lot of interest in reproduction. I am looking forward to see the progression of my breeding program. I am very excited to achieve my goals of producing top quality winning Swissys. We hope to have the opportunity to make some very happy families in the future.
